ブライアンは5歳のときからボウラーでしたが、高校生のときにはユースボウラーとして、実力を高め、ヴァンサンヌ大学、ネブラスカ大学でカレッジボウリングで投げました。
カレッジボウラーとして、彼はヴァンサンヌで2度ナショナルジュニアカレッジ・オールアメリカンに入り、ネブラスカで2度のカレッジオールアメリカン、
年間最優秀カレッジボウラーでも2位に選ばれ、ナンバー1ランクのチームのメンバーであり、ナショナルカレッジ・シングルスチャンピオンシップで優勝しました。
大学を出た後、ブライアンは1997年のチームUSAのメンバーで、国際ボウリング連盟のアメリカンゾーンチャンピオンシップイベントのシングルスとチームで金メダルを取りました。
ブライアンはリーグ・トーナメントで活躍している現役ボウラーであり、パーフェクトゲームは25回、3ゲームで855ピンを出しています。
